Warmth

"Thank God they cannot cut down the clouds," was how Thoreau said it. Evening over the tomatoes.

2017 Week 30, Summer CSA Week 8 of 26

These hot days make for great weekend excursions in search of a cool dip, as well as some fast-growing okra, peppers, squash, and tomatoes. The high-heat hot peppers love it, though they are still working their way to a ripe maturity; the faster, medium-heat hot peppers are coming on like flame, and will be in the share this week. I am totally unbothered by the heat -- I convincingly lie -- and it's only when I hear myself subconsciously say, "Okay," a few times to myself, between deep breaths, that I notice I operate a tad more slowly than in spring. But, Amen, to the farm's good breeze.

I should make a louder note, that if you have any extra bags for fellow members, feel free to drop them off. We have been running a deficit on that end, and are presently out until more appear.

See you on the farm,
Austin
